Josh Groban Spends Fifth Week at #1

Josh Groban’s Noel spends a fifth week at the top of the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart, which makes it the first Christmas album to top the chart for five weeks. Noel sold 757,000 copies, which was a 13% sales increase from last week.
Mary J. Blige’s Growing Pains debuts at number two, selling 629,000 copies. Alicia Keys’ As I Am falls one spot to number three, selling 474,000 copies (which is a 62% sales increase from last week).
The Eagles’ Long Road Out of Eden fell one spot to number four, selling 313,000 copies (a 30% sales increase). Miley Cyrus’ Hannah Montana 2 soundtrack / Meet Miley Cyrus album moves up two spots to number five, selling 260,000 copies (which is a 46% sales increase).
The Now 26 compilation album fell two spots to number six, selling 235,000 copies (a 22% sales increase from last week). Carrie Underwood’s Carnival Ride moves up two spots to number seven, selling 216,000 copies (a 57% sales increase).
Taylor Swift’s self-titled album holds steady at number eight, selling 187,000 copies (which is a 35% sales increase). The High School Musical 2 soundtrack fell three spots to number nine, selling 185,000 copies (which is a 4% sales increase from last week). And at number ten is Chris Brown’s Exclusive, which sold 176,000 copies (a 65% sales increase).
Sales for the week were 25.57 million units, which is a 42% increase over last week. However, that total lagged behind the same week in 2006 (when 31.26 million units were sold); there was an 18% sales decrease compared to this week last year.
