Ola Brunkert, a former drummer for ABBA, was found dead on the Spanish island of Mallorca with cuts to his neck. A neighbor found his body in Brunkert’s garden.
Police say the autopsy show his dead was accidental. It is said that Brunkert hit his head against a glass door in his dining room, shattering the glass and cutting his neck. Brunkert wrapped a towel around himself and left to seek help; however, he collapsed in the garden.
Brunkert first played drums for ABBA on their first single, “People Need Love.” He also toured with the band in 1977, 1979, and 1980. Before playing drums for ABBA, Brunkert was a jazz drummer and played with Slim’s Blues Gang. He was also part of the pop group Science Poption in the mid-1960’s.
