Neil Diamond Debuts at Number One on the Billboard Top 200

Neil Diamond debuts at number one on the Billboard Top 200 album chart with Home Before Dark, which sold 146,000 copies in its first week. Home Before Dark is Neil Diamond’s first number one album.
Toby Keith’s 35 Biggest Hits debuts at number two, selling 103,000 copies. Madonna’s Hard Candy falls two spots to number three, selling 94,000 copies (this is a 66% sales decline from last week).
Clay Aiken debuts at number four with On My Way Here, which also sold 94,000 copies. Mariah Carey’s E-MC2 falls three spots to number five, selling 87,000 copies (which is a 9% sales decrease).
Leona Lewis’ Spirit falls three spots to number six, selling 76,000 copies (a 10% sales decrease). Gavin DeGraw debuts at number seven with his self-titled album, which sold 66,000 copies.
Josh Groban’s Awake Live debuts at number eight, selling 58,000 copies. Dierks Bentley debuts at number nine with Greatest Hits: Every Mile a Memory, which sold 43,000 copies. Luis Miguel debuts at number ten with Complices, which sold 32,000 copies.
This week’s album sales (8.12 million units) is up 6.9% from last week. However, that total is down 4.6% from this same week last year.
