Kanye West Debuts at Number One on the Billboard Top 200

Kanye West debuts at number one on the Billboard Top 200 album chart this week with 808s & Heartbreak. The album sold 450,000 copies in its first week.
Taylor Swift’s Fearless moves up two spots to number two, selling 267,000 copies (which is a 23% sales increase from last week). Guns N’ Roses long-awaited Chinese Democracy debuts at number three, selling 261,000 copies.
Beyonce’s I Am…Sasha Fierce falls three spots to number four, selling 257,000 copies (which is a 47% sales decline). Ludacris’ Theater of the Mind debuts at number five, selling 213,000 copies in its first week.
The Killers’ Day & Age debuts at number six, selling 193,000 copies in its first week. Nickelback’s Dark Horse falls five spots to number seven, selling 178,000 copies (this is a 46% sales decline from last week).
The Twilight soundtrack falls two spots to number eight, selling 162,000 copies; however, this is a 29% sales increase from last week. The Now That’s What I Call Music! Volume 29 compilation album falls two spots to number nine, selling 145,000 copies (however, this is a 26% sales increase). David Cook’s self-titled album falls seven spots to number ten, selling 112,000 copies (this is a 60% sales decline from last week).
This week’s sales (12.15 million units) are up 29% from last week, but down 0.7% from the same week last year.
