Susan Boyle Returns to #1 on the Billboard 200

Susan Boyle’s The Gift returns to number one on the Billboard 200 album chart. The album sold 272,000 copies, which is a 3% increase in sales from last week.

Taylor Swift’s Speak Now moves back up two spots to number two, selling 182,000 copies; however, this is a 24% decrease in sales. Jackie Evancho’s O Holy Night moves up two spots to number three, selling 145,000 copies (this is a 2% increase in sales).

Glee: The Music, The Christmas Album moves up six spots to number four, selling 129,000 copies. The Glee: The Music, Volume 4 soundtrack album debuts at number five, selling 128,000 copies in its first week of release.

The Black Eyed Peas’ The Beginning debuts at number six, selling 119,000 copies in its first week of release. Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy tumbles down six spots to number seven, selling 108,000 copies; this is a 78% sales decline from last week.

Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday tumbles down six spots to number eight, selling 103,000 copies (which is a 73% sales decline from last week). Josh Groban’s Illuminations re-enters the top ten at number nine, selling 78,000 copies; however, this is a 21% decrease in sales. Rihanna’s Loud falls four spots to number ten, selling 77,000 copies; this is a 45% decrease in sales.

This week’s album sales (9.22 million units) is down 10% compared to last week, and down 9% compared to the same week last year.
