Alan Jackson Tops the Billboard Top 200 March 12, 2008

Alan Jackson’s Good Time debuts at the top of the Billboard Top 200 album chart. Good Time, which sold 119,000 copies, becomes Alan’s fourth number one album.
Jack Johnson’s Sleep Through the Static climbs one spot to number two, selling 65,000 copies (even though this is a 29% sales decline from last week). Janet Jackson’s Discipline slips two spots to number three, selling 57,000 copies (which is a 68% sales decline).
Flogging Molly’s Float debuts at number four, selling 48,000 copies. The Black Crowes’ Warpaint debuts at number five, selling 46,000 copies. Erykah Badu’s 4th World War (the first half of her double album series New Amerykah) falls four spots to number six, selling 41,000 copies (which is a 67% sales decline from last week).
Sara Bareilles’ Little Voice moves up two spots to number seven, selling 39,000 copies (which is a 3% sales increase). Alicia Keys’ As I Am falls three spots to number eight, selling 38,000 copies (which is a 33% sales decline).
Taylor Swift’s self-titled album moves back up three spots to number nine, selling 32,000 copies (which is a 1% sales increase from last week). And Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black holds steady at number ten, selling 31,000 copies (which is a 16% sales decline).
This week’s sales (7.68 million units) are down 3.5% from last week. Sales are also down 11.3% from the same week last year.
