The blogosphere has been buzzing with a report from MuchMusic.com about the potential for Aqua to reunite. The Danish pop group, best known for the novelty song, “Barbie Girl,” is reportedly reuniting for a greatest hits album. Other reports being cited include that new songs will be recorded for the greatest hits album, and that the band is rumored to be going on tour in 2008.

It would be nice if this were true. Aqua had some real dance pop gems, and it’s been a shame not to hear new material from them. I’ll be keeping my eyes open for any more concrete news about this potential reunion, and will post any new confirmed information as I have it.
