Al Jardine and Mike Love, two former members of the Beach Boys, have settled a five-year legal dispute over the use of the band’s name. The agreement was reached after a two-day conference in Superior Court. Details of the settlement have not been disclosed.

Love had sued Jardine in 2003, claiming he fronted a group that used various versions of the Beach Boys name. In the lawsuit, Love said he was the sole licensee to perform under the name, and that Jardine was denied use of the name because he did not agree to abide by the terms of a proposed license.

In January, a judge had ruled that the case could go to trial, and the trial was set to begin on April 14.
