Beyonce Debuts on Top of the Billboard Top 200 November 26, 2008

This week, Beyonce debuts at the top of the Billboard Top 200 album chart with her latest album, I Am… Sasha Fierce. The album sold 482,000 copies in its first week.

Nickelback’s Dark Horse debuts at number two, selling 326,000 copies. David Cook debuts at number three with his self-titled album, which sold 280,000 copies.

Taylor Swift falls three spots to number four with Fearless, which sold 217,000 copies (this is a 63% sales decline from last week). Il Divo debuts at number five with The Promise, which sold 162,000 copies.

The Twilight soundtrack falls one spot to number six, selling 125,000 copies (however, this is actually a 17% sales increase from last week). The Now That’s What I Call Music! 29 compilation album falls four spots to number seven, selling 115,000 copies (which is a 33% sales decrease).

The High School Musical 3 soundtrack album falls one spot to number eight, selling 86,000 copies (which is a 9% sales decrease from last week). Enya’s And Winter Came falls one spot to number nine, selling 83,000 copies. AC/DC’s Black Ice falls four spots to number ten, selling 73,000 copies.

This week’s sales (9.45 million units) are up 6% from last week, but down 32% from the same week last year (the sales for this week last year were 13.96 million units).
