Chrisette Michele Debuts at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 May 13, 2009

Chrisette Michele debuts at number one on the Billboard Top 200 album chart with her second album, Epiphany. The album sold 83,000 copies in its first week of release.

The Hannah Montana: The Movie soundtrack holds steady at number two, selling 81,000 copies. Ciara debuts at number three with Fantasy Ride, which sold just under 81,000 copies.

Rascal Flatts inch up one spot to number four with Unstoppable, selling 58,000 copies (this is a 10% increase in sales from last week). Bob Dylan’s Together Through Life falls four spots to number five, selling 51,000 copies (which is a 59% sales decline from last week).

Lady GaGa’s The Fame moves up one spot to number six, selling 41,000 copies (which is a 4% increase in sales). Taylor Swift moves up two spots to number seven with Fearless, which sold just under 41,000 copies (this is a 42% increase in sales).

Rick Ross’ Deeper Than Rap falls four spots to number eight, selling 35,000 copies (this is a 32% sales decrease from last week). Ben Harper and Relentless7’s White Lies for Dark Times debuts at number nine, selling 34,000 copies. The Twilight soundtracks falls four spots to number ten, selling 32,000 copies (this is an 8% decrease in sales).

This week’s sales (6.51 million units) are up 5.4% from last week, but down 19.8% compared to the same week last year.
