Dave Matthews Band debuts at number one on the Billboard Top 200 album chart with their latest album, Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King. The album sold 424,000 copies in its first week of release.
Eminem’s Relapse falls one spot to number two, selling 141,000 copies (which is a 33% decrease in sales from last week). 311 debuts at number three with Uplifter, which sold 60,000 copies in its first week.
Green Day’s 21st Century Breakdown falls two spots to number four, selling 52,000 copies (this is a 32% decrease in sales). The Hannah Montana: The Movie soundtrack falls two spots to number five, selling 50,000 copies (which is a 4% decrease in sales from last week).
Chickenfoot debuts at number six with their self-titled album, which sold 49,000 copies in its first week. Taking Back Sunday debuts at number seven with New Again, which sold 48,000 copies in its first week.
Lady GaGa’s The Fame falls three spots to number eight, selling 47,000 copies; however, this is a sales increase of 3% from last week. Kenny Chesney’s Greatest Hits II falls three spots to number nine, selling 39,000 (which is a 10% decrease in sales). Taylor Swift falls one spot to number ten with Fearless, which sold 36,000 copies; however, this represents a sales gain of 9% from last week.
This week’s album sales (6.38 million units) are up 10.9% compared to last week, but down 15.6% compared to the same week last year.
