Death Cab for Cutie claim their first number album with Narrow Stairs, which debuts at the top the chart. Narrow Stairs sold 144,000 copies.
The Frank Sinatra collection, Nothing But the Best, debuts at number two, selling 99,000 copies. Jason Mraz’s We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things debuts at number three, selling 73,000 copies.
Duffy debuts at number four with Rockferry, which sold 71,000 copies. Leona Lewis’ Spirit moves up one spot to number five, selling 62,000 copies (this is a 18% sales decrease from last week).
Mariah Carey’s E=MC2 falls one spot to number six, selling 59,000 copies (this is a 33% sales decline). Neil Diamond’s Home Before Dark falls six spots to number seven, selling 53,000 copies (this is a 63% sales decline).
Madonna’s Hard Candy falls five spots to number eight, selling 53,000 copies (which is a 43% sales decrease from last week). Toby Keith’s 35 Biggest Hits slips seven spots to number nine, selling 41,000 copies (this is a 60% decline in sales from last week). Keith Sweat debuts at number ten with Just Me, which sold 37,000 copies.
This week’s album sales (7.43 million units) is down 8.5% from last week, and down 13.5% from the same week last year.
