Death Row Records, the label responsible for releasing albums by such artists at Tupac Shakur, Dr. Dre, and Snoop Dogg, has been auctioned for $24 million. Global Music Group Inc., an independent label, takes ownership of such albums as Dr. Dre’s The Chronic, Tupac Shakur’s All Eyez on Me, and Snoop Dogg’s Doggystyle. Other assets are believed to include unreleased tracks by Tupac Shakur that could potentially result in another posthumous release.
Global Music CEO Anthony Davi, Jr., says the label is planning to get “the best economic results of the catalog and provide long term stewardship of the artists’ work.”
