Adam Goldstein, better known as disc jockey DJ AM, was found dead in his apartment in Manhattan on Friday, August 28. He was 36 at the time of his death. It was being reported that drug paraphernalia had been found in the apartment, but it is not known at this time what the cause of DJ AM’s death is.
DJ AM was a DJ who played at Hollywood’s exclusive parties, and was also admired by many music aficionados. He was critically injured last September when a Leajet he and Travis Barker from Blink-182 were on crashed during takeoff in Columbia, South Carolina. At that time, he had been performing with Barker as a duo called TRVSDJ-AM. DJ AM had been burned in the accident, and had skin graft surgery.

A news conference was held with Dr. Fred Mullins, the medical director at the burn hospital where Travis Barker and DJ AM are being treated. Mullins said that they are both being treated for second- and third-degree burns, and that recovery from such burns can take as long as a year. He also noted that Barker and DJ AM had no other injuries.
Mullins says Barker was burned on his torso. DJ AM was burned on his hands and part of his head. Mullins added that they are both still in critical but stable condition.
