Erik Darling, who replaced Pete Seeger in The Weavers in the late 1950’s, has died after a battle with lymphona. He died on August 3 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina at the age of 74.

Darling is best known for his hit “Walk Right In,” as well as for his arrangement of “Tom Dooley” (which inspired The Kingston Trio’s recording of the song). Darling recently published a memoir, I’d Give My Life–A Journey by Folk Music.
