Adele Returns to Number One on the Billboard 200

Adele’s 21 returns to the top of the Billboard 200 album chart for its thirteenth non-consecutive week at the top of the chart. The album sold 106,000 copies.

Casting Crowns’ Come To The Well debuts at number two, selling 99,000 copies in its first week of release. Scotty McCreery’s Clear As Day moves back up one spot to number three, selling 57,000 copies; however, this is a 36% decrease in sales from last week.

Evanescence‘s self-titled album falls three spots to number four, selling 40,000 copies (which is a 69% decline in sales). Tony Bennett’s Duets II moves back up one spot to number five, selling 39,000 copies; however, this is a 29% decrease in sales from last week.

Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV moves back up three spots to number six, selling 36,000 copies (however, this is a 22% decrease in sales). Lady Antebellum’s Own The Night moves back up one spot to number seven, selling 34,000 copies; however, this is a 27% decrease in sales from last week.

Joe’s The Good the Bad the Sexy debuts at number eight, selling 33,000 copies in its first week of release. Five Finger Death Punch’s American Capitalist falls six spots to number nine, selling 29,000 copies (which is a 69% decline in sales). Lauren Alaina’s Wildflower falls five spots to number ten, selling 26,000 copies; this is a 63% decline in sales from last week.

This week’s album sales (4.84 million units) are down 7% from last week, and down 7% compared to the same week last year.

Evanescence Debuts at Number One on the Billboard 200

Evanescence‘s self-titled album debuts at number one on the Billboard 200 album chart. The album sold 127,000 copies in its first week of release.

Adele’s 21 holds steady at number two, selling 110,000 copies; this is just a 1% decrease in sales from last week. Five Finger Death Punch’s American Capitalist debuts at number three, selling 91,000 copies in its first week of release.

Scotty McCreery’s Clear As Day falls three spots to number four, selling 88,000 copies (which is a 55% sales decline). Lauren Alaina’s Wildflower debuts at number five, selling 69,000 copies in its first week of release.

Tony Bennett’s Duets II falls three spots to number six, selling 54,000 copies; this is a 23% decrease in sales from last week. Ryan Adams’ Ashes & Fire debuts at number seven, selling 49,000 copies in its first week of release.

Lady Antebellum’s Own The Night falls four spots to number eight, selling 47,000 copies (which is an 18% decrease in sales). Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV falls three spots to number nine, selling 45,000 copies; this is a 15% decrease in sales. Martina McBride’s Eleven debuts at number ten, selling 40,000 copies in its first week of release.

This week’s album sales (5.21 million units) are up 1% compared to last week, and up 4% compared to the same week last year.

Scotty McCreery Debuts at Number One on the Billboard 200

Scotty McCreery, the most recent American Idol winners, debuts at number one on the Billboard 200 album chart with his debut album, Clear As Day. The album sold 197,000 copies in its first week of release.

Adele’s 21 moves up one spot to number two, selling 112,000 copies; however, this is a 5% decrease in sales from last week. Tony Bennett’s Duets II moves up one spot to number three, selling 71,000 copies (which is a 22% decrease in sales).

Lady Antebellum’s Own The Night moves up two spots to number four, selling 58,000 copies; however, this is a 23% decrease in sales from last week. J. Cole’s Cole World: The Sideline Story falls four spots to number five, selling 54,000 copies (this is a 75% decline in sales).

Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV moves up one spot to number six, selling 53,000 copies; however, this is 22% decrease in sales from last week. Feist’s Metals debuts at number seven, selling 38,000 copies in its first week of release.

Rodney Atkins’ Take A Back Road debuts at number eight, selling 35,000 copies in its first week of release. Jack’s Mannequin’s People & Things debuts at number nine, selling 31,000 copies in its first week of release. Blink-182′s Neighborhoods falls eight spots to number ten, selling 31,000 copies; this is an 80% decline in sales from last week.

This week’s album sales (5.13 million units) is down 8% from last week, but up 5% compared to the same week last year.

J. Cole Debuts at Number One on the Billboard 200

J. Cole’s Cole World: The Sideline Story debuts at number one on the Billboard 200 album chart. The album sold 218,000 copies in its first week of release.

Blink-182′s Neighborhoods debuts at number two, selling 151,000 copies in its first week of release. Adele’s 21 holds at number three, selling 118,000 copies; this is a 1% increase in sales from last week.

Tony Bennett’s Duets II falls three spots to number four, selling 91,000 copies (which is a 49% decrease in sales). Wilco’s The Whole Love debuts at number five, selling 82,000 copies in its first week of release.

This week’s album sales (5.57 million units) are up 5% compared to last week, and up 5% compared to the same week last year.

Dream Theater’s A Dramatic Turn of Events debuts at number eight, selling 36,000 copies in its first week of release. Jay-Z and Kanye West’s Watch the Throne falls three spots to number nine, selling 36,000 copies (which is a 28% decrease in sales). Devil Wears Prada’s Dead Throne debuts at number ten, selling 32,000 copies in its first week of release.

This week’s album sales (5.58 million units) are up 2% compared to last week, and up 4% compared to the same week last year.

Beyonce’s 4 falls two spots to number nine, selling 25,000 copies, which is a 35% decrease in sales from last week. Foster the People’s Torches re-enters the top ten at number ten, selling a little under 25,000 copies; however, this is a 14% decrease in sales.

This week’s album sales (5.49 million units) is down 17% compared to last week, but up 14% compared to the same week last year.
